Privacy Policy
How Editor's Board collects, processes, and safeguards researcher data, ORCID records, and journal metadata.
Introduction & Scope
Welcome to Editor's Board(“we,” “our,” or “us”). We operate a dedicated academic recruitment and verification platform connecting peer-reviewed journals with verified researchers, peer reviewers, and editors.
This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how it is used to authenticate scholarly credentials, and the security protocols applied to protect your privacy across our Academic and Journal workspaces.
Data We Collect
We collect information directly from you, through automated academic APIs (such as ORCID OAuth and Scopus), and through your platform interactions:
Scholar Identity & Affiliations
Name, institutional email address, university department, country, and academic position title.
Bibliometric & Identifier Records
16-digit ORCID ID, Scopus Author ID, Google Scholar profile URL, h-index metrics, and published paper DOIs.
Journal Management Metadata
Journal title, ISSN (Print & Electronic), publisher entity, indexing databases, and editorial board vacancy details.
Review & Editorial Dossiers
Structured past editorial appointments, peer review counts, and candidate pitch notes submitted to journals.
How We Use Your Data
We strictly process your information for legitimate scholarly matching, credential validation, and editorial workflow facilitation:
- Multi-Factor Credential Verification: Cross-referencing your credentials with ORCID and university registries to issue verified scholar badges.
- Editorial Matching & Invitations: Enabling verified journals to search expert directories and send direct editorial invitations tailored to your discipline.
- Application Queue Processing: Delivering tailored candidate dossiers to journal Editors-in-Chief for transparent decision making.
- Platform Integrity & Anti-Fraud: Preventing paper mill proliferation, fraudulent journal listings, and credential impersonation.
Data Security & Retention
All transmissions are encrypted via TLS 1.3. Identity records, ORCID tokens, and application dossiers are stored on secure cloud infrastructure with strict role-based access control. We retain your profile data as long as your account remains active.
